Regarding "other social media sites", the only ones I use any more are iHub and Silicon Investor.

I closed my twitter and Facebook accounts over a year ago, never to return.

I know now how easy it is to simply turn my back on sites I no longer find enjoyable. It seems such sites have become the norm, not the exception.

An important fact any social media enterprise should keep in mind.
