If they didn't, why would they want a public shell? Sharp himself made a poll showing that custodian shareholders are not important, the new company is. And he has previously mentioned that custodian shareholders are expecting to get something for free.

The simple fact is we are buying the shell, not the company. None of the money raised from issuance of the current 2.4B shares went to the company. Instead, the company is acquiring all of the remaining unissued shares (AS - OS) in order to raise money.
