All of the staff of Deep Ocean Search join the subsea community in sending their condolences to the families of those persons lost aboard the Titan submersible whilst on a dive to the Titanic.

We would also like to thank all those who worked so hard to bring together the resources and the people necessary to work in this harsh environment to locate the submersible and its passengers. Working against the clock, they did a magnificent job.

The exploration of the deep ocean can be, we know, a perilous venture which attracts those with a sense of adventure and curiosity and who also accept the inevitable risks associated with this activity; an activity which is a fundamental element of being human – to explore and learn about our environment.

Today we lament the loss of the passengers and crew of the Titan and of a man who was a friend and mentor to many in our small team of explorers, PH. Nargeolet.
