I believe you and I are saying the same thing. My statement shortened and yours with meat that I decided to leave out of my initially very long statement. When I said Emil wrote to various companies (as part of a legal action) wanting to discuss with them the usage of their patents in their companies and that Apple in particular did not acknowledge Vplm,… that was not to say Apple did not know of them. I acknowledge your statement, ” To my knowledge, the two companies were competing against each other to file a patent related to VPLM's RBR parent patent but that VPLM ultimately won the "first to file.” Vplm even advertised in the Apple Store in the early 2000s. So they knew each other. However, in the bigger picture when Vplm did decide to make claims and as they wrote letters to companies, Apple did not acknowledge them… meaning Apple did not recognize them as owners of the disputed technology in an allotted time given regarding Vplm claims (Apples Face Time was the rage back then and Apples believed, right or wrong, their technology was their own technology) and to this day, they still do not acknowledge them, and Face Time continues. In short, Letters sent, non-acknowledgement, & then both ending up in court was my point.
