There has been so much talk arguing about whether or not we will hear something about a settlement today, which to my thinking is completely irrelevant to the big picture of what was announced last month by the court. To me these are the important points to consider:

1. Today is Wednesday, June 14th which is the 42nd day of 45 day stay given to Amazon and VPLM to settle the case.

2. What this actually means is that we will absolutely get a status update between today and Monday, June 26, 2023. So if we get a status update today great but if we don't it doesn't mean anything is amiss, because we will absolutely hear something in the next 12 days. Because here is what the court actually said:

Text Order GRANTING128 Motion to Stay Case entered by Judge Alan D Albright. Before the Court is the Parties Joint Motion to Stay the case for forty-five days. Having considered the motion, the Court finds that the motion should be GRANTED. All deadlines in the case are hereby stayed for forty-five days.

That 45 day period will absolutely end on Sunday when the courts are closed, so it's actually very likely that we will hear something between today and Monday. So why argue about today when there are 4 days including today for a settlement agreement within the 45 day period? If we don't hear any we will absolutely hear something between this coming Tuesday and the following Monday because this is what the court filing said:

If the case is not settled and closed by the end of forty-five days, the parties are directed to file a joint status report within seven days.

So we are absolutely getting a settlement update very, very, very soon, 12 days or less. All the best.
