Hang on a minute....

"That's funny. What you said is true at some level. They probably did have very high hopes in the beginning."

* I have 2 problems with that sentence which is all I read so far. There is a big difference between having high hopes and MAKING CLEAR, UNEQUIVOCAL PROMISES! A huge difference so let's get that straight from the git. High hopes is a positive thing for anyone to have but making clear cut big big big promises directly to the shareholders promising them big money on the doorstep is something altogether another universe and is likely illegal and then to completely ignore those promises and completely throw them under the bus and completely abandon them.........WITHOUT EVER SO MUCH AS A WORD OF WARNING OR EXPLANATION was the case. Now, what I just did was to characterize what actually occurred in not only a true, honest, real, unhyperbolic way, but I have backed it up with all the PRs, many of which were hard to find. On the other hand, the way you characterized it as simply "high hopes" is...... IMHO, part of the problem because it was WAAAAAY more than mere high hopes that the company projected. Way more. Let me move onfo your next point...

"It's my understanding that they did indeed buy the technology from someone else who had started the process of developing it. But what you left out was that they saw the potential and actually FINISHED the job of getting the technology proven & patented."

* no no no.... I didn't leave anything out. It's a well known given, and I did indeed say they were patent application or patents pending in many of my former posts about this, that vplm did indeed see the prosecution of the applications through to the end. There is no hiding if that fact. Why would they buy them in the 1st place if they weren't going to see them thru. There is no attempt whatsoever to hide that fact. Nor the fact that they created all the ancillary patents since. I didn't emphasize that today because it wasn't part of the point I was making. The poo T was simply to reiterate to the many newbies the fallacy oft perpetrated here, that vplm created the patents. The truth is that it's a somewhat unusual and or confusing scenario where ppl try to state that it was vplm who created them becsuse the EMU is our ceo. But he was not part of vplm at the time. Digi was a separate company and vplm came along later I believe. However, a little known fact is that the members of both companies were friends and possibly collaborators way back then. And I believe that the EMU was accumulating many shares way back then. So they eventually made a plan and a deal and it was kind of like a friendly takeover. So all the board members of digi became the board members of vplm. But the point is, that when it happened, digi was digi and vplm was vplm. 2 separate companies. And at one point I had a filing from digi that clearly stated they no longer wanted to be in the voip business and WA Ted to get rid of the patent applications. I can no longer find that doc but I assure you it was real and I read it through. They stated they wanted to get into a completely different business. They also, in that filing, stated what they felt was the value of the patents. It was somewhere in the $600k realm. Anyway, later the was done and vplm purchased all of digi for cash of somewhere between 6 and 800k plus a shitload of shares. It took the better part of 2 yrs to fully consummate the deal and during that time is when vplm, via Chang, began the BIG LIE PR campaign. I've posted most if not all of those PRs and they were repeated over and over and in no uncertain terms....... NOT HIGH HOPES.......... BUT DEFINITIVE PROMISES WHICH WERE NEVER KEPT IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM AND NEVER WAS THERE ANY CONSULTATION WITH OR WARNING TO SHAREHOLDER OF WHAT WAS ABOUT TO OCCUR WHEN THEY DECIDED INSTEAD TO BECOME THE BIGGEST PATENT TROLLS OF ALL TIME BY DITCHING ALL THE PROMISED PLANS....... WHICH, BY THE WAY, WERE AN AWESOME SET OF PLANS A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN!.....AND THEN WITH NO ANNOUNCEMENT WHATSOEVER, SIMPLY CHANGED INTO A BIG HOOKER! I pretty much believe that was part of the master plan.

Moving to your next point....

"They must have been so excited at the time because of the amazing technology they were working with. It was disruptive and world-changing."

* boy are you right! So dont forget that vplm was already for years, a voip service provider. But I think they were just more or less a borrower, renter, much like today's cellular MVNO's. In other words, to my understanding, all they did was rent everything from other REAL voip service providers. And so when they obtained the patents, what could POSSIBLY BE MORE OF A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN? WHAT COULD POSSIBLY BE A MORE GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY HANDED TO THEM ON A FREAKING GOLDEN PLATTER. AND WHAT COULD POSSIBLY BE A BETTER OPPORTUNITY FOR THE SHAREHOLDERS TO INVEST IN??????????? AND VPLM STRUMMED THAT BANJO TO THE MAX VIA THE BIG LIE PRS. And let me add....that they sure got my attention and my money. "Disruptive and world changing!!! Yeah buddy a d ot something to throw away and foolishly try to sell with all the years of roadblocks and monkey wrenches we now see as history of a baaaad plan..... A plan soooo bad, one can only wonder if it was part of the plan? After all, vplm has been beddy beddy good to the select few and continues to be.

I'll finish the rest later. How my doin keep?
