Yes I hear ya, though sometimes boring is good. My dad did well in the market by basically 'doing nothing'. He used a full service broker, bought quality large caps, and held them forever. A few didn't work out great, but overall he had many multi-baggers over the years (decades), all the while collecting nice dividends. A few clunkers though - he had some GE stock (he had worked there as an engineer), but even that is now starting to come back as the company is being restructured.
That's been Bar's approach also -- buy high quality large caps and hold forever. Can't argue with success :o)
