Anything below $5 is considered by some as a Penny Stock. I used to exclusively do pinks on Ameritrade but am shifting to NASDQ $1 or higher.

It used to be that Ameritrade had a set fee no matter the price. Now they have a formula that I have yet to appreciate or learn. Guess that is what you refer to as commission?
