kipp440 Etrade experience

I use Etrade, I did not actually make that decision as Brownco was bought by Etrade so I just transferred.

I use Etrade Pro. It's a Java application with good features for watching and executing trades. You can keep track of many stocks at the same time.

I had a problem a while back with data slowing down and level ll not updating. I called them and got instant help. I think the response is proportional to your account size and activity.

Recently I am again experiencing the same problem and will have to call them back for help again. My son is a software consultant and tells me the problem is a "memory leak" in their Java code. Very difficult to find and not uncommon. The code requires memory for specific actions and does not release that memory when the action is complete resulting in your computer really getting slow. I have had to restart at times to continue.

I like the features and service enough that I will not change my account. From what I'm hearing other brokers have some rally bad problems. This is manageable and will probably get fixed over time.

I would like to hear from other Etrade Pro users if they are experiencing this problem. Thanks.
