Basically all the IP that was available was licensed out to the two biggest robotic companies in the world for a total of $17 million with no royalties or back in payments.
Enter another company after FDA clearance, if that ever happens. Why would they want to go up against the two largest robotic companies with the exact same IP.
Single port will never be a stand alone offering from a company. It is less than 2% of the total market.
All you can say from this deal is the company has 7.5 million dollars more for the executives to milk.
There are still people (certain nurses) that will say MDT or ISRG are playing some game to get the company for pennies. That opportunity has been around for two years. Either of these companies could scoop this up for pocket change. Did they.. no. They are picking the carcass clean of every piece of
IP from money they found under their car seats… and they still have extra change left.
