Even if another pandemic doesn't hit for awhile, humans are complete slobs. With that slobbery comes illness IMO...people got sick on Carnival Cruise Lines for years long before COVID. I think companies are aware of people being pigs, and want to protect against that as much as possible not just to protect people, but maybe more importantly for the companies, to protect them against being held liable. I'm always seeing signs in restrooms telling people to wash their hands after using the bathroom, sometimes specific to the employees themselves.

We're also just careless - I know it's just a movie, but remember Contagion? Carelessness and being a slob is what formed Patient Zero. :)

Why wouldn't Chlorox and Lysol be bankrupt by now save for a pandemic? How would those companies survive if the pandemic ends and nobody cares anymore?
