Why would I. I have a 2000 Ford pickup that's a little worse for wear, has 260k miles on it and it still runs and stops great. Of course I'm on my second transmission along with a bunch of other small things but they will never cost me more than it would to buy a new one, just to cart my tools and material back and forth. Paid 13k out the door for that little horse when it was brand new.

LOL it has crank down windows but it's automatic and has A/C if I want it. Juiced up the stereo system a long time ago so I don't need much else. Plus working downtown as much as I used to, a thief would be embarrassed to steal something like her. The spare tire is locked in places they could never find and the catalytic converter is shielded by an armor plate. I don't even have to lock the doors as long as I don't leave any tools in it under the tonneau cover.

I also have a 2012 Altima with the Maxima engine package that is showroom clean and runs like a raped ape. It spends most of its time in the garage but I roll her out on date night and for a decent cruise at least once a week.... sometimes a little longer in winter because I don't want it to see snow or salt. I bought that one off of my brother in law in Tennessee for 4k after I got my divorce because I knew I wasn't going to impress any new love interests in an old rusty pick-up with a trashed interior.

There's no reason for me to replace either one of them and I don't need some type of flashy overpriced sports car with overpriced insurance to prove who I am. You can keep a bunch of that shit.

It's not that people can't afford them, they are just smarter these days and don't see the need to piss away 10's of thousands on a new vehicle when a good mechanic and steady maintenance schedule suits just fine.
