Saunders expands defense & fuel infrastructure work

Saunders International Ltd Managing Director and CEO Mark Benson talked with Proactive at the AIM's Small and Midcap Conference about the company’s strong momentum, recent project wins and the strategic expansion into defense and infrastructure sectors. Now we can do that end to end.” The company now sees a $2.3 billion pipeline of directly addressable opportunities, with up to $4.8 billion in total defense-related fuel infrastructure upgrades anticipated across the next decade. Technology Minerals CEO on black mass and Leinster milestones

Technology Minerals CEO Alex Stanbury talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about a milestone week for the company, highlighting significant progress in both its recycling operations and exploration asset portfolio. Stanbury discussed the first shipment of black mass from its Recyclus facility to Europe, under an agreement with Glencore. He explained that black mass—a hazardous material containing lithium, cobalt, and nickel—requires complex approvals for cross-border movement. “It’s been a lot of work in the making to get this black mass moved off-site,” Stanbury said, noting this completes a critical part of the company’s business model. He also commented on the importance of the Glencore partnership, stating that “for Glencore to have the faith to work with us…is really important.” This collaboration ensures a consistent offtake of all Recyclus production. Stanbury also confirmed Recyclus is working with Ocado, managing end-of-life batteries from their robotic systems. The company uses its proprietary LiBoxes to safely store and transport used lithium-ion batteries, providing safety and ESG compliance. “We’ve done thousands of batteries for them now and there’s an ongoing maintenance programme,” he added. CleanSpace eyes 30% growth, EBITDA breakeven

CleanSpace Holdings Ltd CEO Gabrielle O’Carroll talked with Proactive about AIM's Small and Midcap Conference about the company’s growth trajectory and product innovation in powered air purifying respirators (PAPRs). CleanSpace was founded in 2009, based on an innovation developed during the SARS epidemic. The company's differentiator is its lightweight, head-mounted respirators that contrast with the bulkier waist-mounted models commonly available in the industrial market. “We are steadily approaching that breakeven EBITDA, profitable EBITDA position, which is our goal,” O’Carroll said. O’Carroll explained that CleanSpace's respirators are well suited for industrial sectors like mining, infrastructure, and petrochemicals. The products are marketed in key regions including the United States, Western Europe, and Australia. The company has 52 employees and recorded AU$9.2 million in revenue in the first half, up 26% year-over-year. CleanSpace is targeting annual revenue growth of 25–30% and expects to achieve positive EBITDA soon. Opioid-Free pain relief: AFT’s global expansion strategy

AFT Pharmaceuticals Ltd Managing Director Dr Hartley Atkinson talked with Proactive at the AIM's Small and Midcap Conference about the company's unique approach to drug development, its expanding global footprint, and what lies ahead in 2025. AFT Pharmaceuticals is focused on creating pharmaceuticals "with a difference," targeting unmet needs and reducing reliance on opioids. “We don’t sell anything we don’t believe in,” said Dr Atkinson, highlighting the importance of alternatives to opioid treatments. One of the company’s key analgesic products helps avoid opioid use — a particularly timely innovation in light of the global opioid crisis. Dr Atkinson discussed the company’s core markets, with a strong presence in New Zealand and Australia, generating approximately 150 million in revenue. AFT also maintains operations in Asia and now exports to around 80 countries. The company has experienced sustained growth, having quadrupled in size over the past decade and doubled in the last five years. AFT has established six new affiliates across regions including Singapore, Hong Kong, South Africa, Canada, the UK, and Europe.
