IMO name and symbol changes rate about the same in terms of importance as do which typeface is chosen for business cards or the color of business stationary a company uses. Seriously, exactly how will seeing the name "Byoplanet" or ticker symbol like BYOP, GERM, or any other moniker result in any revenue? Branding is all well and good but there is but one truth--

"All great products are "self branding" Without that little else matters.

As far as "when the new dude takes control" the overwhelming concerns usually revolve around (a) dilution and (b) reverse splits. Authorizing and issuing tons of new shares is is never good for old investors. Reverse splits are particularly damaging because they not only do that via stealth (by failing to reduce the A/S by a proportional amount) while also making potential losses much worse. Examples:

Currently, a share priced at .0005 that falls to .0001 would lose -80% max. However, a 1:100 R/S would mean a .05 share would lose -99.8% if it hit .0001. What's crazy is that a 1:10,000 R/S would only mean the a slightly worse loss potential to -99.998%. So what if the new guy decides he wants shares pegged at $5.00 each thinking that will be maintained long enough to get moved onto a "big board"? A:10,000 R/S would do that. The current O/S would be reduced to 775,000 shares @ $5 ea. But an A/S any larger that 1.1 million would be an increase over the current proportion.
