Elon Musk said X/Twitter will have a new CEO, who will start in approximately 6 weeks. Although he didn’t mention the name of the new leader, it will be a woman.
Musk added that his role will transition to executive chair and CTO, overseeing product, software and sysops.
Following the tweet, Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) shares jumped and closed the day with more than a 2% gain, as investors responded positively to the news that Elon Musk's shifting role would free up additional time for him.
