given current grid issues localized hydrogen production is fine it can be made local to steel works or fertilizer factories as well as truck stops.
Europe of course is looking to just dilute Nat gas with hydrogen in the pipes
Both will survive - coal is out, oil will become the new coal as far as pressure to minimise usage.

LNG, RNG and Hydrogen will co-exist for along time on a horses for courses usage - hydrogen preferred if it is economically viable or mandated by regulation in certain markets.
