They say that three hostels have burned down in recent years as a result of power fluctuations while household appliances that go out of use are annual. The people of Thethjan accuse the managers of the concession hydropower plant.
Even tourists are faced with the problems caused by the lack of proper supply of electricity.
"We arrived this morning in Theth and tried to contact the hotel we had booked but they did not answer us. I wandered around for a few hours until we met by chance. They told us that there is no electricity, that's why the phones were switched off. Even for us it is a problem to be in such a magical place but without electricity", said the tourist.
"We are a group of young Spanish people who have come on vacation. We like the place very much but we had some problems because we couldn't charge our phones and so we couldn't even contact our family members. It's a pity because here is a real paradise and there is no solution for electricity or waste. It is a fantastic place", said the tourist.
At a time when Thethi has opened its doors, waiting for hundreds of visitors, there are two requirements of the guesthouses: Regular supply of electricity and cleaning of garbage.
