I am not sure what it will take to come to the epiphany that this is not an outfit which is being run for the small, individual shareholder. Their only use is to help move the price in function of institutional trading goals. Otherwise they are completely immaterial, their participation is negligible. Stock buybacks are just another mechanism in this. Wachet Auf! as the proto reactionary Rumsfeld, would say, and as Johann Sebastian did, musically speaking. This is not Unknown, at this point. As long as this works, I see no reason the company would be sold. For the spirited individual investor this does offer trading opportunities, if I am correct and if this is his cup of tea.
