KCC, as long as passive copper cable DAC's can be used they will be used, this has sadly been true all the way back to the infamous Tencent Consortium in 2019 when my hopes were sky high for ACC's

now the Tomahawk 5 extends the life of passive copper DAC's once again to 800gbs, read all about it here

Steve did get some interesting positive information from S7 about the higher speeds needing "fly-over cables" if they continue using passive copper DAC's, so possibly this will change things? Anyone know much about "fly-over cables"?

The good news for 2023 is coming in the 2nd half when the VR revenues should start to kick in and save the day for S7 shareholders, and by then we should know if ACC's are still not getting traction it would be a great chance to exit without losses! If ACC is gaining traction because of "fly-over cables" then perhaps it will be time to back in the truck here, we'll see in the next couple quarters where this goes

but as you elude to, at some point Photonics will fill the need at even the Shortest of Reach in DC's, and I'd guess that time is not in the to distant future, say 1600gb/3200gbs
