The reason why a JPS buyback has not happened yet is probably because bureaucrats are working at FHFA or because regulatory requirements do not allow JPS repurchases in conservatorship.

((and they will buy back JPS at $1)) - They would've done it already if they could because it would cost them less than $1.5B but it would add 33B in capital back to their retained earnings.
