We just returned from Indy. where our daughter won/ represented Hawaii in the 84th. annual American Legion H S Constitution Speech Contest . Some former HS contestants were Lou Dobbs , Alan Keyes and v p Mike Pence .A couple of the speeches were just too good. Not the presentation , but the context , structure and unbelievable research presented in their speeches . I say unbelievable because I seriously doubted anyone, much less a H S student, could have come up with a couple of the extreme historical correlations in their speeches. I’m guessing they used cgbt?Our daughter did very well winning over 8k in scholarships and missed the qtr. finals by 1 point. The winner got 25k, 2nd. 22.5 and 3rd. 20k . The good news is she can complete again next year if she wins the Big Island and State competitions again. She’s only a Jr 16 ( skipped 1st.grade) She did this while maintaining a 4.222 gpa thru 3rd qtr./ ( 4.333 1st. Half ) v p student council representing her HS at the State level, also our State Representative’s intern, sec Honors Society, class Historian Honors Art Society, on BoD Kids credit union and v p of a beach clean up group.
