Many rural hospitals need medicaid to survive. Jellico would have survived if Tennessee had Medicaid. But there is renewed effort to get Tennessee onboard with the program. It's only a matter of time now that Tennessee has National attention lately and the "Tennessee Three" have gone to the White House to meet with Biden today.

"Since the passage of the Affordable Care Act in 2010, states have had the option to expand their Medicaid programs to every adult with an income below 138% of the federal poverty level.
Tennessee remains one of the 11 states that has declined to do so. As many have noted, this makes no sense – financially, medically or morally."
