In days past, the majority of people never questioned the pundits and were not able to easily find alternative information outside the established clown narrative. Yet today we see thousands of regular people take the news into their own hands and disseminate it for themselves. 
And when a pundit starts speaking what the people are resonating with, they cancel and fire them. 
This further self destructs them and only serves to validate those who are exposing the system. 
It's almost like we've been witnessing a systematic destruction of the mainstream media old guard.
