Isn't buying before a big news release considered "insider information" ? Why buy if you are already given free stock for your efforts and name recognition? It sounds like it would be to only pacify you or doubters. He is already taking risk by putting his reputation on the line.
His endorsement with his experience is good enough for me. Why would he be doing this unless he expected to make a lot of money? If he didn't think that, it wouldn't matter how much stock they gave him if it wasn't more valuable in the future. Be logical.
