UPDATE: US v. Justin Costello Sentencing


Good Morning,

You are receiving this email with an important update regarding the case, US v. Justin Costello. Please read this email carefully.

You should have received an email from the Victim Notification System (VNS) but I wanted to make sure everyone was aware that the hearing originally scheduled for this morning has been continued until next month. The sentencing hearing will take place on May 18, 2023 at 10:00 am at the federal courthouse in Seattle, which is located at 700 Stewart Street.

We need to notify the court how many people we anticipate will attending the hearing and how many would like to speak during the hearing. Since some of you live outside of Washington State and are unable to travel, we will be asking the court for permission to open up a conference line so you can listen to the hearing. The information to access the hearing will be provided in a separate email once approval is granted. In the meantime, please respond to this email if you are interested in participating in the hearing with the following information:

Will you be attending in person or calling in and listening remotely?
Would you like make an oral statement during the hearing?

This information will greatly assist us in preparing for hearing so please respond to this email as soon as possible.

You were previously sent information on submitting a victim impact statement (VIS). Since the hearing date has changed, if you haven’t already submitted your VIS and you would like to, please send it to me as soon as possible, preferably by May 1st. I have attached the template again for your reference. You are NOT required to submit a VIS and you are not required to use the template provided.
