Learned something new about My broker today, Etrade. This may make me look inexperienced, but, too bad for me. If anyone here can benefit from this information, then better for us all.

If your order is only partially filled on Day 1, if it gets filled on some other day, you may be charged a second commission fee . (!)

Worse, let's say your order gets partially filled at 10:00 a.m. on Day 1 and slowly gets completely filled by the end of the day in 8 randomly-sized parts. You won't believe this.
When you go to sell these 8 partial fills, if you choose, as I sometimes have, to sell all 8 lots, you will be charged a commission for each partial lot. My account rep knows of NO remedy for this unfair practice.

When buying a stock with very low PPS, like CLHI, your commissions may sometimes exceed the value of your purchased lots. (!)

Worse still, if you need to complete a certain number of purchases each month, or quarter, in order to qualify for commission-free trades, all theae partials, buys or sells, DO NOT COUNT towards achieving this commission-free threshhold even though you may have paid a separate commission for each transaction.

I find all of this seriously unfair. I would love to learn of your opunions here and of your experiences with other broker houses.

Thanks, your friend, THV.
