Yes, really. Thank you for proving my point. At no point does the mayor say "this is a great company for these reasons and this is why we chose them", just that they did "a great amount of due diligence" (in what specific regard?) and they are delighted to be working with them and they look forward to green lighting. Of course he's going to sound positive. He's not going to say "yeah, we really screwed this up", but everything that was said was political. Absolutely NOTHING specific about why Viper is a good company or their track record. Nothing that could be considered an endorsement.
People will read or hear what they want to believe, not what's actually printed or stated. Major problem in our society today and exemplifies that the average person has no critical thinking skills and just laps up what they are fed without a second thought.
You want to believe that a decision to have ONE POLE installed by a business with no track record of accomplishing anything (I would love to see their due diligence) is an endorsement? Go right ahead. What I see is the mayor saying they are proceeding with caution and that he hopes everything works out. "we continue to plan for our success". Really? Sure you don't want to say "we're done and we're going down the tubes and I just told everybody to go home."?
What an amazing company.
