An old farmer once had a donkey that could "kick like a mule".

His mother in law came to visit, and, before he could warn her, the donkey kicked the woman in the head, and she could not be revived.

So, the farmer went to the funeral. Several of the men spoke something to the farmer, and the farmer nodded yes. Then, they spoke something else, and the farmer said no.

Perplexed, the farmers wife asked the farmer what that was about.

Well, the farmer said, "yes, Sorry for your loss..it was a shame".

And, then, the farmer said, "No, you may not borrow my mule, he is booked up until next year."
