Ciudad Victoria .- The completion of two natural gas projects will leave an investment in Tamaulipas of 4 thousand 500 million dollars, between private and public capital. The projects are the liquefaction plant off the Altamira coast and the Brasil storage field, in the north of the entity.

The commissioner of Energy in the state, José Ramón Silva Arizabalo , pointed out that the participation of the North American company New Fortress Energy and the plan of the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) to have hydrocarbon reserves, are the important plans to be executed in the following months, coupled with a fertilizer plant.

"Regarding investment, more than 15 billion pesos are expected in federal projects, those authorized by the federal government and in the private investment part, only that of New Fortress is 2 thousand 500 million dollars and in the field of Campo Brasil's storage is over 2 billion dollars. We are talking about plans of great magnitude, emblematic and of great development for the state, ”he explained.

Pending the official startup of the offshore structure of the American corporate, announced last year by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, there is permission to supply gas from South Texas to the complex to be built and distribute it to about 18 countries.

Regarding storage, the Brazil field was authorized after the visit made by Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya to CFE director Manuel Bartlett Díaz .

"It is an issue that will put Tamaulipas as a leader in the issue of gas reserves and also national security," said the commissioner.

To this is added the adaptation works in the Port of Matamoros, currently with the dredging of the navigation channel and the adaptation of the docks. The management of the transmission lines with the federal Energy Secretariat is maintained and the fertilizer plant to be located in Reynosa is consolidated, by reviewing land that meets the requirements.

"There was nothing in state energy projects, we started from scratch, to create new opportunities to promote, develop and detonate Tamaulipas, with electricity, water and gas, which are the three main factors for investors to arrive," concluded Silva Arizabalo.
