Technology Minerals CEO on black mass and Leinster milestones

Technology Minerals CEO Alex Stanbury talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about a milestone week for the company, highlighting significant progress in both its recycling operations and exploration asset portfolio. Stanbury discussed the first shipment of black mass from its Recyclus facility to Europe, under an agreement with Glencore. He explained that black mass—a hazardous material containing lithium, cobalt, and nickel—requires complex approvals for cross-border movement. “It’s been a lot of work in the making to get this black mass moved off-site,” Stanbury said, noting this completes a critical part of the company’s business model. He also commented on the importance of the Glencore partnership, stating that “for Glencore to have the faith to work with us…is really important.” This collaboration ensures a consistent offtake of all Recyclus production. Stanbury also confirmed Recyclus is working with Ocado, managing end-of-life batteries from their robotic systems. The company uses its proprietary LiBoxes to safely store and transport used lithium-ion batteries, providing safety and ESG compliance. “We’ve done thousands of batteries for them now and there’s an ongoing maintenance programme,” he added. Finally, Technology Minerals has completed the sale of its Leinster lithium project in Ireland, aligning with its strategy of incubating early-stage assets and moving them up the value curve. The company is now focused on its Spanish project, which benefits from EU interest in critical materials and battery manufacturing. It expects further licenses to be granted soon and aims to seek JV partners to bring the project toward feasibility and production. Genflow Biosciences CEO welcomes new investment; outlines dog longevity trial

Genflow Biosciences PLC CEO Dr Eric Leire talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about a pivotal new direction for the company as it initiates a clinical trial focused on improving aging in dogs. Leire described the trial as a natural evolution from Genflow's previous success in mice, noting the commercial appeal of the canine market. “There is nothing to improve really the quality of life of our aging dogs,” he said, adding that the study meets a significant unmet need. The trial will run for one year, with six months of treatment followed by six months of assessment. It's being managed by independent contract research organisation Syngene. Sprintex secures A$3.25m to expand global output; reduce debt

Upton said approximately A$1.5 million of the funds would go toward debt reduction, with the remaining A$1.75 million allocated to accelerating production and sales of Sprintex’s new range of high-speed electric compressors. These products aim to improve energy efficiency, offering “more than 50% energy savings versus the current benchmark products”. He discussed the company’s strategic manufacturing expansion, highlighting the transition of its Malaysian facility to support electric compressor production—mirroring current operations in Suzhou, China. This move is designed to double manufacturing capacity, navigate global trade sensitivities, and better serve regional preferences. Currently in the Netherlands, Upton also outlined a five-year partnership with Mest Water, a Dutch wastewater treatment firm focused on ammonia reduction in livestock manure—a project supported by the Dutch government. Firefly Metals hits high-grade copper-gold at Green Bay

Firefly Metals Ltd managing director Steve Parsons talked with Proactive about the company’s latest drill results from the Green Bay Copper-Gold Project. Parsons highlighted a series of significant intercepts from ongoing infill drilling, including a standout result of 14.2 metres at 7.5% copper equivalent. These results are part of an effort to upgrade the current 24.4 million-ton resource into the indicated category, which is essential for progressing the company’s engineering studies and maintaining ASX compliance. “In some of those infill zones, we’re seeing 50 metres or more at over 2% copper with gold,” Parsons said, underlining the robust nature of the mineralised system. Firefly currently has five underground rigs active, with three focused on infill drilling and two on step-out drilling aimed at further growing the resource.
