ARDX. Thanks for the comments Tony .
Not surprised Akebia / KERX are not selling much. Wife's patients don't like the drug mainly due to pill burden ( up to 12 tabs a day with meals ) , complaints on hard black stool and constipation .
She also mentioned briefly issue with monitoring for iron .

Auryxia
----DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION-----------------------
• Hyperphosphatemia in Chronic Kidney Disease on Dialysis:
• Starting dose is 2 tablets orally 3 times per day with meals. (2.1) • Adjust dose by 1 to 2 tablets as needed to maintain serum
phosphorus at target levels, up to a maximum of 12 tablets daily.
Dose can be titrated at 1-week or longer intervals. (2.1)
• Iron Deficiency Anemia in Chronic Kidney Disease Not on Dialysis:
• Starting dose is 1 tablet orally 3 times per day with meals. (2.2)
• Adjust dose as needed to achieve and maintain hemoglobin goal, up
to a maximum of 12 tablets daily. (2.2)

So with Auryxia ...adherence is poor . Pill burden high .

ARDX's drug is 2 small pills a day and you dont need to take with meals .

Are U or anyone else here following the OMER and KDNY P 3 IgA Nephropathy trials with 2023 readouts ?
Currently 2 IgA drugs recently approved ...both very expensive , one with a boxed warning .
May write a post on them later
