Yes, post numbers at the top of each message have always been present, but it seems that anyone who has been here more than a few months will have recognition that post numbers were also listed on the left in a column for each post when a listing of posts were displayed. But now that space has been taken over by 
that I don't see as having any legit value since it's just opinions of others having an agenda.
