Thungela Resources Ltd. said Thursday that it expects to report a doubling of both earnings per share, and headline earnings per share for 2022.
The London-listed South African coal miner, a spinoff of Anglo American PLC, said earnings per share are expected to be in the 125 South African rand to 129 South African rand ($6.72 to $6.94) range, compared with EPS of ZAR61.08 for 2021.
Headline EPS are expected to be in the ZAR130 to ZAR133 range, from HEPS of ZAR66.57 the year before.
The miner said that headline earnings attributable to shareholders were likely to be between ZAR17.4 billion and ZAR17.7 billion, compared with ZAR7.0 billion the year prior.
"Key areas of judgment which may impact the expected EPS and HEPS figures ... are in the process of being finalized, and any changes to these ranges, if necessary, will be communicated to shareholders," the company said.
Shares at 0802 GMT were up 21.50 pence, or 2.3%, at 948 pence.
