I don’t understand what you mean by “notified in your mailbox.”

If someone replies to a public post of yours, their reply will appear in your mailbox. If you read the post while reading a board it will disappear from your mailbox whether or not you ever saw it your mailbox.

Of course, this is how it has always worked, so if you mean something different please clarify.
