You're expecting someone with their car title in hand to prove that they paid for the car. That's not a requirement, they legally own the title.



Ive been a bonded licensed auto dealer/re-builder for 25 years. If someone obtained title to a vehicle under dubious/fraudulent circumstances...then their title isn't worth 2 cents.

For instance, many states don't require a notarized signature to sign off ownership... I cant count the times Ive seen someone obtain a printed/hard copy title (having no legal interest in said vehicle) by signing the legal owners name in the owner/agent section... Only to have the title nullified/voided through the legal system.

My example above pertains to MOST types of property, real and personal.

Your example is not only erroneous... its ridiculous.

This guy walks up to me at the horse track... As I placed my bet he scoffed at my pick. ....Then offered to by my ticket for half price..
