I definitely fall more into this camp in my belief as well. But that could also just be me as the cynical person that I am (particularly when it comes to matters within government run bureaucracies).

Once those groups are enabled and allowed to strike "backroom deals" then it is right next to game over for the people getting the things that are best for them, rather than what is best for the decision maker.

I don't think many here believe that the Revive product will not be one of the best things made available for the current situation. We all know that the drug poses no threat in terms of its safety of use. We have already heard that it is capable of treating several (many) of the symptoms of COVID and its after effects. It makes no sense that we've had to wait this long for a therapeutic that is safe and presumably effective.
