Clean energy and sustainable development feature high on the respective national agendas of GCC countries

The impact of COP28 on the regional construction industry, green hydrogen, and the development of the GCC as a global hub for clean energy will be one of the key themes at the 2023 Energy and Sustainability Summit on Big Project Middle East. The second annual event will be held in Dubai on May 3 and will provide key insights from government and industry bodies, as well as green energy, construction and technology companies.



Complimentary access to the E&S Summit for industry professionals will include multiple panel discussions, presentations and focused fireside chats from prominent regional figures, including key decision makers, along with high-value networking and sponsorship opportunities.

The first summit was held on June 21 at the St. Regis Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, in response to a clear push for green energy and sustainable development across the GCC. The event attracted the participation of several regional organisations, including the UAE Green Building Council, Red Sea Development Company, ECC and Saif Air Tech – Fakhruddin Holding Company, among others.

The 2022 Energy and Sustainability Summit was a huge success, and we look forward to building on it in 2023 as the Middle East continues to drive clean energy and sustainable development. While much has been said and done around these topics, there is still a long way to go, which is why we are eager for the E&S Summit 2023 to be a nexus of discussion and a driver of change.



Prior to this, it was announced that the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference will be held in Dubai, UAE from November 30 to December 12, 2023. Sustainability has also taken center stage as Expo 2020 Dubai rolls into gear, with event organizers announcing 121 buildings have achieved LEED certification at the mega-event.
