Maxz: I checked with TD Ameritrade and as expected they indicated NIOBF cannot be shorted, even in our margin account:

We have received your message regarding your shares of NIOBF! Please note that TD Ameritrade does not allow over-the-counter (OTC) stocks to be shorted. Therefore, your shares of NIOBF are not able to be loaned out to other investors to cover their short sells.

Yes, at least for a Fidelity account. I suspect it’s the same for other brokerages, but it would be nice to have confirmation from investors using other brokerages.

Are you saying, that if NioCorp shares are not in a margin account they are free from being borrowed by a short seller?
