And aren't we supposed to only believe it if George says it?

Well right now we're believing what George said over a random hype man that didn't even share a screenshot of the email.

He filed the 2022 Annual Report and hasn't addressed the issue, despite allegedly emailing someone about it (meaning he is aware of the mistake) and having the free time to tweet about groundhog day ten times.

If someone can't tell that a shell is a shell, can you trust anything else that they say?
