Language note: What word describes the total features of a processor before packaging? It isn't core, because that refers to the processor without cache, memory controllers or HT connections. It isn't processor because that refers to the finished, packaged product.

So what do we call it?


Device or die. If it is a sliced and tested device sold
to customers to assemble in their own MCMs then it is
called a known good die (KGD) in the business.
