The Director of the Secretariat of the Energy Committee, Artur Lorkowski stated that Albania has made a lot of progress as far as the Distribution System Operator is concerned. In the Parliamentary Committee on Productive Activity, Lorkowski requested the acceleration of the procedures for granting permits for renewable energy, the approval of the new regulator for energy infrastructure, as well as the approval of a law on the environmental impact of hydropower plants.

" The implementation of the auctions that have been done for renewable energy was good news. Albania was the first country that managed to conduct an auction properly with the contracting parties. We want to emphasize this, it is a very big achievement for your country" , he said.

For Lorkowski, the priority remains the alignment of Albanian legislation with that of the European Union also in the field of climate.

" The law on environmental impact is very necessary to be implemented and we support you in this direction. There is a gap in the environmental impact analysis process in Albania. This is a very important issue for the proper formulation of the plan and the environment in the future. The issue of oil stocks, which requires the attention of the parliament and progress must be made in this direction. Here too we can move forward. One of the actions is the full implementation of the governing regulation for Albania. I believe there will be some updates on this ," added Lorkowski.
