Halo also announced their first sale from Bophelo (before it became part of Akanda). The lying, thieving CEO of Halo hyperbolized it by bloviating about how big the African market is and how Halo's set to grab a big chunk of it.

The license-to-license market in Africa is estimated to be $7.1B USD by 20231 and Bophelo is uniquely positioned to capitalize by cultivating high quality flower at affordable prices for African patients.

Anyone who watches Shark Tank knows it's a UUUGE red flag when entrepreneurs start talking about market size.




I was immediately suspicious when the PR failed to mention the quantity purchased or amount of sale. I suspected it was a miniscule quantity at a paltry sum. And I was right. Found out later it was something like a few grams purchased as a test batch. I believe that was also Halo's last sale of Bophelo cannabis.

They intentionally omitted crucial details to mislead investors into thinking it was a much larger sale than it was. Smoke & mirrors from a crooked SOB CEO who was later fired by the board of the CONpany he founded.

That crooked SOB btw, hand-picked Tej Virk to lead Akanda. And lest anyone forget, Tej is NOT running Akanda at the moment, because he's currently under investigation by one of Akanda's own companies.

Chief Executive Officer Tej Virk has been on a paid leave of absence both administrative and personal since November 30, 2022, pending an independent investigation being conducted by Canmart Directors and counsel.

Halo Labs Closes Acquisition of United Kingdom Cannabis Distributor Canmart

[Halo] has closed its previously announced acquisition (the "Acquisition") of U.K. based cannabis distributor, Canmart Ltd ("Canmart"). As a result of the Acquisition, Halo has acquired 100 percent of Canmart's issued and outstanding common shares and, in doing so, one of the few distribution platforms for cannabis-based products for medicinal use ("CBPMs") in the U.K.

For those who didn't notice - Akanda also didn't mention how large (or small) the first shipment was. But they did boast about the size of their contract. A contract that will likely go unfulfilled if history is an indicator.

Akanda recently entered into an agreement to deliver at least 1,000 kilograms of high-grade medical cannabis flower to Germany through the Cansativa platform. The deal ranks as one of the largest supply agreements in the European medical cannabis industry.

You call it "getting their act together" when the announcement of the first sale of cannabis to Germany was followed up 22 days later by the CEO taking a leave of absence pending an investigation by their own subsidiary?

Sounds like a shitshow to me.
