I didn't say "any commercial cocoon in existence". I said "normal commercial silkworms".

They did not produce a silkworm that is 50% larger than a normal commercial silkworm. If they had silk producers would be knocking their door down.

The company informed us that hybridizing could create 30-100% larger silkworms than non-hybridized in the July 6th, 2022 PR.

That is talking about their existing spider silk line that was much smaller than conventional silk lines. So small that some cocoons were ruined in the realing process because the machinery wasnt set up to deal with their smaller size.

Through hybridization they created a cocoon that is 30 to 100% larger than their existing spider silk line.

The resulting cocoons are not bigger than normal commercial cocoons and certainly not 50% bigger than normal commercial strains.
