--- Government-sponsored mortgage finance agency Freddie Mac (OTCQB:FMCC) on Wednesday said its total mortgage portfolio increased at an annualized rate of 5.3% in Dec. 2022, bringing it to $3.42T.
--- The 5.3% annualized growth rate for Dec. compares to a 13.1% rate in the same month in 2021, when mortgage rates were much higher.
For Nov. 2022, the annualized growth rate was 1.0%.
--- The aggregate unpaid principal balance of FMCC's mortgage-related investments portfolio increased by ~$9.4B in Dec.
--- For Dec., FMCC reported $41.37B of purchases or issuances, $263M of sales and $26.03B of liquidations.
--- In Dec. 2021, the company reported purchases or issuances of $94.09B, $1.47B of sales and $57.61B of liquidations.
--- FMCC's single-family delinquency rate remained flat at 0.66% in Dec. from Nov. Multifamily delinquency rate decreased to 0.12% in Dec. from 0.15% in Nov.
--- The measure of Freddie Mac's (OTCQB:FMCC) exposure to changes in portfolio value averaged $2M in Dec. and the duration gap averaged 0 months.
