Some Canadian brokers, not all the Banks though have allowed trading of GVSI in Canada.

As of today some Cdn banks are still not allowing buys.

The excuse is that even though the banks can see the Level 2 today but when the cdn bank tries to place the GVSI order thru their usual American broker for OTC, the broker is not allowing it.

So some orders are still being rejected by the main banks in Canada. Some Cdn discount brokers are and have been allowing GVSI trades
