"Clearly if there was really enough to launch Spydasilk, it would’ve launched"

not if they couldnt continue to meet demand...i seriously doubt they want to launch and then have cutomers clamoring for more, that they cant deliver...

as far as i see, the pilot went well and produced enough for a launch...had to be substantial amount...but when the contractor was to begin commercial production, a different worm was used than what was used in the pilot production...they used a bigger worm to yield more silk...it was this worm that did not perform as expected...it still produced a lot but did not hit the target goal...

and it appears that kim is sticking with the larger worm concept but tweaking it to be more robust...im thinking the reason is that the worm produced well but with a little tweaking can do better........at least that what i hope is happening...

so why wasnt there any launch?...because they werent sure if they could continue to meet the hoped for demand...what happens when customers want more?..we tell them to wait a year or so and maybe we can make more stuff?...or perhaps we just wait under we are confident that we can?....

"All we can do is speculate, but Kim’s provided enough clues to come to some kind of logic-based conclusion that “things aren’t great” and clearly haven’t been."

“things aren’t great”...meaning there is not failure?...things moving forward but slowly?...what is actually being said?...instead of just speculating worst case scenarios and taking easy pot shots, how about just making an honest assessment on where the company and product is?...using the info that is available and interpreting it in any way one chooses...take a stand on just where it is believed that the company and product are...
