Samson is a good example of Gods will for his followers to be fruitful unto goodworks.

He had it all, but fell short from lustful desires.
He turned himself over to the enemy.

God may....have used him to be the king or major ruler of his people back then (set apart since birth) however he was overcome by his own desires for the most part.

which caused him to LOOSE HIS EYES and be IMPRISONED by *sin.

Once his physical eyes were removed, he HAD to focus on spiritual. In the end he took out many a wicked people, more so than in his entire lifetime, but his life was cut short.

Though at that time he killed a bunch of enemy, it is very likely that God would have continued to use Him mightier than just one large event.
