Maybe. But that also gives Intel more time before they have to knife Itanium, and reduces the pressure, if it exists, to adopt x86-64.

Do we want them to kill Itanium just yet? I'm not sure about that. AMD is trying to create a picture that you need 64 bits to play in the major league, all 32 bits is value, including Intels offerings.
