EU financing of the gas pipeline Vlorë - Fier, Balluku shows the projects that benefited from the Summit in Tirana

The European Union will finance the construction of the gas transmission pipeline from the floating terminal of Vlora to the exit point of the TAP gas pipeline in Fier. The agreement of the EU for this project was announced during the meeting of the European Union Summit, while the news was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister, at the same time Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku during a television interview.

"Today we received very good news that was totally unexpected, despite the fact that we had been discussing for a long time with the Commission and the European Union who have decided to support the construction of the first part of the gas transmission pipe for the length of the Adriatic-Ionian project , but which is the part from Vlora to the exit point of Fier, i.e. from the floating terminal of Vlora to the exit point of Fier, which is 33 kilometers and is the most important part for the Albanian territory. So a new project has been added to us today", underlined Balluku.

Deputy Prime Minister Balluku said that the energy situation received increased attention during the discussions held today, also due to the crisis that this sector is going through, while she listed the benefits that our country will have as a result of the projects that will be supported by the EU.

"With what the President of the Commission declared a few months ago, we benefited from 85 million, which is a direct injection into the state budget to be used for the imports we will have in the future, since we are currently in a good water position. Meanwhile, in the second package, which is developed through WBIF funds, each of the 6 states must compete with projects related to the establishment of increased renewable energy capacities related to energy efficiency. We have participated in three main projects, which is the equipment of 25,000 cabins with smart meters that will reduce technical losses in most of Albania. We have also participated in increasing the number of subscribers who want to have water heating panels, for 20 thousand subscribers,

The Deputy Prime Minister also said that the signing of the roaming agreement is another important step that will benefit the citizens of the Western Balkans, as she stated that Albania has also received support for important infrastructure projects.

The summit of the European Union for the Western Balkans, which was held in Albania, gathered today in Tirana the highest representatives of European politics and the leaders of the states.
