if you have an online broker, they buy the shares in their name, and put them in your account, so they appear as the buyer. It is all in the fine print of your brokerage agreement, which is why it costs so much for your broker to get CERTS for you, they have to xfer ownership.

this makes it annoying that the TA verifies, as most brokers will not show us as shareholders in the TA books...
